The story has great potential, but fails to show it since of it's very short run-time of 87 minutes, but at least has the ability to fill in gaps in a second and third film if this does well because if this becomes a franchise, it could be something new and original in the sci-fi/horror/action spin-take. It's not appealing in any way. Vampires - check cool, slow motion fight scenes - check sci-fi setting - check lone badass on a motorcycle - check disregard the source material - check PG-13 rating, so monsters can be killed, but appeal to a wide audience - check 3D post conversion - double check. I would have actually liked to see a flashback which explains why Priest online became 1 to start with an aspects of his training. My teenaged son and I discovered this movie very enjoyable. The entire effect was comparable to Riddick, but Riddick was not a Western at heart.
